Britannicus
Britannicus is a story about the birth of a tyrant.
The stage set is designed in the form of a larger-than-life filing system, containing an ever-expanding collection of evidence, remains, clothing and other personal artefacts. It illustrates what remains when power has taken its destructive course. The set also symbolises how memories of past injustices gradually become disassociated from the individuals that suffered them, to be stored away. This allows us to examine why it is that our history has never held us back from committing new atrocities.
