Refurbishment of an apartment in Amsterdam city centre
By making a few simple architectural modifications and moving certain functions, the apartment’s layout was made more efficient while increasing the amount of available living space. A wall was removed to create a large living room with an open kitchen and natural light from two directions. The compact bathroom was fitted with a skylight, while an ingenious construction ensures that the separate shower cubicle does not take up valuable motion space. The apartment was decorated with custom made pieces of furniture and a mix of second hand, refurbished and newly acquired pieces.
